About Robert
I have over 6 years of experience teaching piano and hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano Performance. I enjoy helping students become confident accompanists for vocalists, instrumentalists, and choirs across different musical settings. Every lesson is adjusted to match each student's goals and experience.
I teach reading lead sheets, transposing on the fly, rhythmic sensitivity, musical listening, and adapting to different playing styles. These practical skills help students feel comfortable performing with other musicians. One student who struggled to accompany singers became much more confident after learning simple transposition techniques and listening exercises.
I have worked with students from Beginner to Advanced levels, including Professional and Expert accompanists who wanted to strengthen their musical versatility. My teaching is student centered because every learner develops at a different pace. I would love to help you unlock the art of musical partnership and become a confident, supportive pianist in any musical setting.

My piano lessons focus on making music theory simple, practical, and enjoyable. I teach music theory fundamentals by connecting every concept directly to the keyboard. We study chord progressions, inversions, harmonic analysis, scales, key signatures, and musical structure step by step.
I also cover rhythm, ear training, chord voicing, sight reading, and improvisation. Every lesson helps students understand why music works instead of just memorizing notes. I once helped a student improve their confidence by showing how a simple chord progression appeared in several songs they already enjoyed playing.
I enjoy guiding learners preparing for music exams and those dedicated to classical performance. I tailor each lesson so their theoretical knowledge naturally improves their playing and musical understanding. This makes learning more meaningful and easier to apply in real performances.
Students practice using theory while playing instead of learning it separately. Small discoveries during each lesson build lasting confidence and creativity. Together, we will build a strong foundation for composition and improvisation.
