About Finbar
Many students take AP Psychology classes to prepare for the exam, and across ten years of teaching the course, my classes are now naturally calibrated with that goal in mind. However, I also hope generally to impart my passion for the subject and inspire a similar lifelong fascination with it, in others. I feel psychology study can be a vital component in developing increased self-awareness, empathy and other soft skills that modern graduates are increasingly lacking. My classes, as such, can be both a route to exam success but also to self knowledge and a more sophisticated perspective and understanding of your world around you.

While all the exam material is covered meticulously, the lessons are specially tailored for English learners, so they are extra accessible and simplified for ease of understanding. I have had a lot of success teaching my self-designed course materials to high-achieving middle school and high school students from countries like Korea and China.
I am a warm, personable educator who builds trust and rapport. My 15 years' experience as a teacher are underpinned by a BA in English Literature and Human Development, a PGCE from University of Nottingham (graduated with distinction) and a state-recognised certificate in English language teaching.
