I have taught Ian music and Composition as a private tutor for nearly a decade, originally when he was preparing for a BTec and subsequently whilst studying at Newcastle and up to the present. Ian has matured into a very capable all round musician, with a real
talent for composition. Ian has written excellent scores for two outstanding musicals, both of them hits at The Edinburgh Festival. Ian has also become a capable and patient tutor, who has a good rapport with young people. He is also a talented footballer, and generally accomplished person.

Ian has taught two of my children how to play the piano, he is punctual and reliable as well as patience with my younger child, he is always very good at teaching theory and makes it easier for anybody to understand. I would highly recommend Ian to anyone searching for a teacher as he is one of the best, I have had plenty of other piano teachers but Ian stands out the most amongst the other teachers.
