About Salani

Hi, I'm Salani! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA, graduating with a GPA of 3.66/4.00. I received the Chancellor's Award, earned recognition on the Dean's List, and was selected as a commencement speaker at my university graduation.

Alongside my engineering studies, I gained experience as a MATLAB Tutor and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, helping students understand technical concepts and develop their problem-solving skills.

I understand that MATLAB can seem intimidating when you're first learning to code, particularly when you're trying to apply programming concepts to engineering problems. My goal is to make learning practical, approachable, and easier to understand.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to your experience level, coursework, and learning objectives.

• MATLAB for beginners: Understanding the interface, basic syntax, variables, data types, operators, and writing your first scripts.
• Programming fundamentals: Working with loops, conditional statements, functions, arrays, matrices, and data visualisation.
• University assignments: Breaking down problems, understanding the relevant concepts, debugging errors, and developing a structured approach to solving problems.
• Engineering applications: Applying MATLAB to mathematical calculations, numerical methods, data analysis, and relevant engineering problems.
• Simulink: Introduction to simulation and modelling, where appropriate to your coursework and learning goals.

I focus on explaining not just what code to write, but why it works and how to approach similar problems independently.

Lessons can include step-by-step demonstrations, practical exercises, debugging, and guided problem-solving. For university students, I can also help you understand assignment requirements and develop your own solutions.

My aim is to help you move beyond simply getting your code to run and develop the confidence to use MATLAB effectively in your studies.
