About Amir
Hi, my name is Amir. I have been preparing and tutoring students for 11+, GCSE and A-levels mathematics for over 7 years now. I am a former centre manager of a maths learning centre. I’ve always loved maths and I started tutoring maths and physics when I was a student at the Queen Mary University of London. I have experience working with various age groups (6 to 16 years) and different learning abilities including children with SEN.

My lessons consist of a 5 minutes warm up at the start, where I talk to the student about what they’ve learnt at school that week and whether they have any questions. My teaching methodology is based on two main things: skill development and adaptation. Initially, I create a skeleton of the most suitable skills tailored to every student’s specific needs*. After which, I adapt to teach those skills to the student based on their engagement and the level of their understanding. Once those skill gaps are covered, I will reassess the student to check their retention before moving on to the next level. Furthermore, I like to develop analytical and scientific ability along with knowledge in my students, and for that, I use a combination of resources in the form of worksheets, class tasks, and past papers. Last, I believe in the strong ethic of providing feedback to the parents, so that they are aware of their child’s progress.

Amir tutored my daughter for a year to prepare for her maths gcse exam. The positive results were noticed after about a month of tuition he undoubtedly helped with boosting my daughter's confidence and enabled her to achieve a grade 7 in her maths gcse. Amir was kind, helpful, supportive and very approachable for my daughter.
Amir is a kind kind of boss. When I was working as a maths instructor and he was my manager, he’d always criticise me by showing me how something is done rather than telling me how it should be done. My fees (depending on the content being taught not the age of the student)
Key Stage 2 Maths = £32.00 per hour.
Key Stage 3 Maths = £36.00 per hour.
GCSEs Maths = £40.00 per hour.
A-level Maths = £45.00 per hour. (excluding Further Maths)
Bulk discount:
• if you have 8 hours in a month you’d only pay for 7.
• if you have 12 hours in a month you’d only pay for 10.
