About Louise
I gained Qualified Teacher Status (Psychology and Science) in 2010 through completing the Graduate Teacher Programme at St. Clement Danes School (Herts) via the University of Hertfordshire.
I have a BSc in psychology (UCL), an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience (University of Durham) and an MRes, Research Methods in Psychology (Goldsmiths College, University of London).
I taught Psychology at a high achieving south London comprehensive school from 2010 until 2024 (I left due to moving away from London). I led the successful psychology department between 2019 and 2022, stepping down to begin a part-time Psychology PhD under the supervision of Professor Joni Holmes at the University of East Anglia. My PhD work explores the influence of environmental sensitivity on cognition and wellbeing in school environments. My work is currently focussed on the relationship between the Sensory Processing Sensitivity personality trait and ADHD.
I have been an AQA A level Psychology examiner since 2024.

I am a supportive teacher. I really enjoy making tricky concepts accessible and supporting students in mastering exam skills.
My lesson style adapts to meet your needs. I like to assess new students and then collaborate with a student to decide on the course of action we will take in our sessions. I regularly assess students to allow improvement plans to be modified where needed.
Typical lessons may include one or a combination of the following:
- Teaching a topic a student is unfamiliar with, using visual aids and regular checks of the student's understanding (assessment for learning in teacher-speak)
- Low stakes quick-fire questioning to assess and refine a student's knowledge of a topic
- Exam Q practice, providing scaffolds (e.g. sentence starters or key words where needed) where needed
- Writing exemplar essays together
