About David
I graduated the University of Notre Dame in 1999 with a B.A. in Ancient Greek and philosophy. I later earned a master's degree in journalism at Columbia University. By day, I am a professional writer and editor with more than 25 years on the job.
My primary subject for tutoring is Latin, but I also have more than 1,000 hours tutoring formal logic, in addition to hundreds of hours in proofreading and other branches of philosophy.

Looking to catch up or keep up with your Latin class? You just changed schools, and now the rest of your class is a year or two ahead of you in Latin? I'm here to help.
I have been studying and using Latin since 1989. I have taught students from ages 4 to 70, from beginners to advanced, from Cambridge Volume I to reading Caesar, Cicero and Vergil in the original Latin.
I own and know every major Latin textbook. I love reading and translating the classics, and I can also help you with Ecclesiastical Latin if that's what you're working on.
I like to focus on sight-reading in our sessions together — I give you the tables and vocabulary to memorize on your own time. As long as you're ready to do the work, I can help you get there on your journey to Latin proficiency! (Help with Ancient/Koine Greek also available on request.)
