Hi! I’m Alex, and I take teaching seriously, seriously fun! But for real I keep the vibe relaxed and welcoming. I’ve been playing for years, both self-taught and with formal training, so I know how to make learning feel natural, not stressful. It's such a joy and there's no reason learning shouldn't be. Hi, I’m Alex. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 15, starting out self-taught before taking lessons that helped me understand technique and theory in a grounded, practical way. Because of that mix, I teach in a way that’s flexible, approachable, and centered on playing music you actually enjoy.
How Lessons Work
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on goals, followed by:
Warm-ups tailored to your level
Simple technique and rhythm work
A song or exercise that applies what you’re learning
Light, connected music theory—not overwhelming, always useful
A short practice plan for the week
My focus is helping you build confidence through steady, meaningful progress.
I understand learning from both sides--figuring things out alone and learning with structure--which makes me patient, adaptable, and good at breaking things down clearly. I’m especially helpful for students who feel stuck or want to bridge the gap between playing and understanding.
My style is great for beginners, self-taught players, returning adults, intermediate players looking to refine their technique, and anyone wanting a relaxed, supportive environment. Acoustic or electric, all styles welcome.
