About Debra
I have 30+ years of experience as a graphic designer and illustrator and have worked in the publishing, e-learning, and corporate marketing worlds. I am very interested in helping students quickly achieve the skills they need to get either entry-level jobs in graphic design or advance their existing skills to promote their careers. My experience in e-learning is a definite advantage because not all pro graphic designers know how to teach it, and just watching YouTube videos doesn't help if you get stuck on something and need to ask questions.

My teaching method is customized for the level the student is at - beginners get a lot more step by step instruction to really get the basics firmly in their heads. Intermediate and advanced users shift to more project based tasks to build up a portfolio of samples.
A typical lesson would be to first go over the learning objectives (example: how to use the pen tool in Illustrator) then an assignment on creating something with this skill.
