About Emma
As a PhD candidate I will be teaching undergraduate students at UCL later this year. As such I am currently receiving Postgraduate Teacher Training.
Throughout the last five years I have tutored privately in a number of different countries. I started teaching French, English and Latin in The Netherlands when I was attending secondary school there. After completing this, I moved to France to study French for a year and simultaneously taught English to a number of primary school children. Subsequently, during summer breaks from my undergraduate, I taught English to university students from all over Spain at the Fundación General Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo and, concurrently, I provided private English classes for two children (aged four and seven) in Madrid. Moreover, I have previously been a mentor at the UCL Academy, a secondary school based in Swiss Cottage, London, and I taught German on an after school programme for primary school children. Finally, I set up and ran an outreach programme for UCL's Debating Society, whereby free debating workshops were given in comprehensive schools throughout London.

I am an experienced tutor and PhD candidate at University College London, as well as a recent graduate from the University of Oxford. Teaching is a true passion of mine and, apart from providing private tuition, I am also preparing to teach undergraduate students at UCL later this year.
Previous experience has taught me that each child learns in a unique way and, as such, I make a point of tailoring each lesson to suit his or her individual needs. To aid this, I would like to meet with both the student before we start the tutoring sessions to get a sense of what he or she responds best to in terms of teaching material.
