About Sam
After more than 20 years I am still as passionate about teaching and my subjects as when I began, in a Further Education college in London. My previous students have been successful and gone onto university, with careers in the creative industries. I have taught 1:1 as well as teaching classes of 25+. I teach film and media production, specialising in moving image texts, like short films, music videos and documentary. I also teach KS3 Art to Years 7-9. I've also taught English at GCSE and A Level. I currently teach in an ‘outstanding’ secondary school in West London, constantly developing and reflecting on my teaching practice. I received PGCE from the Institute of Education, University of London Education. I'm also DBS checked as a requirement in education.

I teach tailored lessons according to your specific course. I aim to go through the main film/media concepts to help you improve by preparing resources. I will give feedback on your assignments, exam preparation, essay writing and how to implement appropriate subject language and theory to enhance your grades. I also have 20 years of resources in all my subject areas to share if the resources you use are not working for you. I can revise your work and make appropriate notes on your coursework to help your understanding of the most popular film & media theories.
