I am an experienced elementary and special education teacher with eight years of teaching in various grade levels, including 2nd, 4th-6th, and behavior/SEL-focused classrooms. My teaching approach is engaging, interactive, and student-centered, encouraging meaningful conversations during lessons to help broaden students’ understanding and critical thinking skills. Beyond the classroom, I am also a basketball and volleyball coach, bringing teamwork, discipline, and a growth mindset into my teaching. My lessons are designed to be engaging, personalized, and structured to meet the unique needs of each student. I focus on reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary development, and critical thinking to help students build a strong literacy foundation. In reading, I help students develop fluency, comprehension strategies, and analytical skills through interactive discussions, guided reading, and targeted exercises. I incorporate both fiction and nonfiction texts to improve understanding and engagement. For writing, I teach sentence structure, grammar, organization, and creative expression. My lessons include structured writing prompts, essay development, and revision strategies to help students express their thoughts clearly and confidently. I also integrate multisensory techniques, visual aids, and hands-on activities to support different learning styles, particularly for students with special education needs. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to help students gain confidence, independence, and a love for learning. Each session is customized to address specific goals, whether it’s improving foundational literacy skills, mastering grade-level standards, or preparing for academic assessments. My ultimate goal is to help students thrive academically while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.
