About Kirtana
I am a counselor graduate with a deep passion for education, especially when it comes to working with children with special needs. My journey in education is driven by a genuine love for working with kids and a strong commitment to their growth and development. I believe in creating an environment where every child feels valued, understood, and supported—this is at the heart of my teaching philosophy.
Empathy and patience are central to who I am, and I bring these qualities into every interaction with my students. I understand that each child is unique, and I take the time to get to know their individual learning styles, strengths, and challenges. By doing so, I can tailor my approach to ensure they receive the care and support they need to succeed, both academically and emotionally.
My experience as a counselor has equipped me with the skills to foster a safe, nurturing space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves. I use my counseling background to not only address academic needs but also to support the emotional well-being of my students, helping them navigate the challenges they may face in and out of the classroom.
Working with children with special needs is more than just a job to me—it's a calling. -My teaching techniques combine structured lesson plans with flexible strategies that are designed to engage students at their own pace. I use a variety of tools such as visual aids, multi-sensory activities, interactive tasks, and assistive technology to accommodate different learning styles.
-Each lesson typically lasts between 40 minutes to 1 hour, ensuring enough time for both focused instruction and interactive practice.
-I hold a degree in counseling and have completed specialized training in special needs education, with a strong focus on therapeutic and inclusive teaching methods. In addition to my qualifications as a counselor, I am also working as a special needs teacher/therapist, where I have gained extensive experience in adapting educational materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
-I teach English to students with special needs ranging from Year 1 to Year 4 (ages 7 to 15 years old). These students often require more personalized, patient, and adaptive teaching techniques to succeed in the classroom. My lessons are designed for students who may have learning differences, including ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other developmental challenges. I ensure that each lesson is accessible, engaging, and promotes the development of both language and communication skills at a pace suited to each student's needs.
