About Iona

Hello my name is Iona. I am an experienced Drama Teacher having taught for theatre companies, Primary and Secondary schools and Theatre Schools. I am also a LAMDA Examiner and GCSE Examiner. I always knew I wanted to work with young people and help them build their confidence, find their own voice and develop skills through drama that would not only set them up for a career in the performing arts but any job they wish to pursue. I have spent the last 20 year working as an actor , teacher and drama examiner but above all as an advocate for the arts and learning through drama. I am able to offer practical acting lessons for all ages ( I do specialise as a children/ teenage acting coach) GCSE and A-level drama theory and LAMDA teaching. I am able to offer LAMDA Introductory, Acting , Devising, Speaking ,Verse and Prose and Speaking in Public. I also offer Acting for Camera ( Trinity College London). I also off conservational English lessons for ESOL students and Public Speaking lessons.

About the lesson

I tailor all my lessons to meet the individual needs of my learners. No two learners are alike and their needs differ greatly. I am experienced at creating lesson that are fun, engaging , accessible yet challenge students . As an experienced and qualified teacher I am able differentiate for a wide range of levels, ability and specific learning needs. I am aim to make the content of each lesson fun, practical ( yes even theory is taught through practical activity) and carefully structured to ensure students make good progress.
