About Hiren

I am a passionate and experienced competitive chess player with a strong background in national and international-level tournaments. I have represented India in international competition, participated in tournaments in Armenia, Spain, and Poland, and have also represented the University of Madras as a chess team captain. My achievements include winning the SGFI National School Games U-17 Championship and securing podium finishes in South Zone and intercollegiate competitions.

I believe that chess is not just about winning games, it is about developing logical thinking, patience, concentration, discipline, and decision-making skills. As a trainer, I focus on understanding each student's current level and teaching them step by step through practical examples, puzzles, game analysis, and playing practice.

Whether you are a complete beginner, a school student, or an intermediate player looking to improve your competitive performance, I aim to make every class engaging, structured, and easy to understand. My goal is to help students enjoy the game while steadily developing their skills and confidence.

I maintain a professional and supportive learning environment and am committed to helping every student progress according to their individual goals.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is practical, structured, and personalized according to each student's level and goals.

I use a combination of interactive explanations, board demonstrations, tactical puzzles, game analysis, opening principles, endgame practice, and practical games. I encourage students to think independently and explain their ideas rather than simply memorizing moves. I also analyze student's games to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

I bring real tournament experience into my teaching. Having represented India internationally and served as a university chess team captain, I understand the practical challenges players face during competitive games. I focus on building strong fundamentals, independent thinking, confidence, and a disciplined approach to improvement. I adapt my teaching pace and methods based on the individual student's understanding and playing strength.

My classes are suitable for beginners, school students, college students, and adult learners who want to learn chess or improve their playing strength. I can help beginners build a strong foundation as well as intermediate players who want to improve their tactical, positional, and practical game skills.
