About Katelyn
My name is Katelyn, and I have one more semester before I obtain my Bachelor's of Arts in Music Education. I've been playing clarinet since I was in 6th grade, and attended a performing arts high school where I learned advanced techniques and was able to spend a great deal of time in the professional music world. I've taken private lessons for several years with different private teachers, which helps to inform my own approaches to teaching.

As a Music Education major, I've been studying different methods of teaching and how to individualize my approach based on the student. I'm comfortable taking on students of all ages, skill levels, and ability levels. I believe that things such as music theory and ear training are also important to being a musician, so I incorporate those into my lessons. I'm comfortable using different modalities to meet any student's needs, and firmly believe that open communication and trust is a vital aspect in any teacher/student relationship. I hope to work with you soon!
