About Aimee

With a passion for learning and helping others, supporting and guiding students to achieve their very best has always come naturally to me!

I achieved First Class Honours for both my Part 1 and Part 2. I received an MArch, Masters of Architecture, at the University of Nottingham and a BA(Hons), Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, at the University of Lincoln.

I was awarded the 'Student Achievement Prize', as well as being nominated for the 'RIBA Bronze Medal', which are the Royal Institute of British Architects' oldest awards, regarded as the most prestigious prizes in architectural education globally. Furthermore, I was shortlisted and my project was showcased in The RIBA President's Medal exhibition in London, an annual celebration of the work produced by talented architecture students from across the globe.

Professionally, I have been involved in a vast array of projects ranging from; Bespoke Residential, Masterplanning, Interior Remodels, Facade Treatments, Commercial Contracts, Healthcare Facilities, Recreational Structures, Educational Institutions, Theme Park Design, Retail Fit-outs and more. I also enjoy a practical and involved approach, whereby I have undertaken my own residential renovations within my personal life.

I have experience in a combination of Design Studio Tutoring, Lecturing, Reviewing/Critiquing and Moderating at Nottingham Trent University as well as The University of Nottingham and The University of Lincoln.

I enjoy discovering students' natural interests and what excites them about their projects, recognising their existing strengths in order to tailor my support effectively. By keeping the sessions goal focused and friendly, you will feel confident in knowing that I will support you to improve your work and build your confidence as quickly as possible.

Every journey will be unique, with different needs and requirements to suit the individual. However, I always provide a positive learning environment and will ensure that you always feel confident and encouraged with your work progress.

If necessary, we can put together a personalised plan with regards to both your time and deadlines, setting straight forward and achievable targets for our next sessions. It is also possible for me to review work prior to tutorials, in order to provide verbal feedback, which can be discussed and fully understood during our session.

Mainly, I support students with;

GENERAL DESIGN AND STUDIO PROJECTS
A comprehensive approach, including; understanding the brief, site analysis, concept design, massing, design development, physical/digital modelling, artistic expression, sketching, architectural plans, representational drawings, diagrams, graphic communication, visualisations, renders, photoshop editing and much more.

Discussing your thoughts and assessing your progress will identify any areas for improvement or focus. This will ensure that we can proceed to work efficiently, concentrating on improving the quality and presentation of your ideas and drawings. If beneficial, we can work together to improve the structure and delivery of your verbal communication skills, ensuring that you feel confident presenting your project effectively to others.

PORTFOLIO REVIEWS
Providing a comprehensive evaluation of you portfolio, including; organisation, structure, continuity and layout as well as any areas which may be missing essential pieces of work or need more development. This also involves taking a holistic view of your project and ensuring that you are conveying your ideas and drawings convincingly.

SOFTWARE
Assisting the integration of ArchiCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop/InDesign as part of your ongoing project for BIM, 2D & 3D modelling, plans, renders and post processing visualisations, graphics or portfolio compilation. I can also offer feedback and support with using AutoCAD and the full Adobe CC Package if needed.

DISSERTATION & ESSAY WRITING
Reviewing any initial ideas, discussing an outlined proposal or reviewing a work in progress. I can offer feedback on the overall content, structure, organisation, resources and quality of the writing as well as providing any beneficial resources.

CV & SAMPLE/WORK PORTFOLIO
Evaluating your current CV/Portfolio or assisting you with selecting work to ensure you are showcasing your strengths with an attractive CV and a diverse sample of work.

Tuition is offered within most areas of Architectural Academia and the Profession - so please don't hesitate to get in touch!
