About Mariette
I am an experienced Afrikaans teacher who enjoys helping students grow in confidence and improve their marks. I work with learners from IEB Grade 5 to Matric, as well as IGCSE and AS Level students, and I understand that every student learns differently.
My lessons are supportive, relaxed, and tailored to each learner’s needs. Whether you need help with language, comprehension, literature, writing, oral preparation, or exam practice, I aim to make Afrikaans easier to understand and less stressful.
I am fluent in both Afrikaans and English, which helps me explain concepts clearly and work comfortably with bilingual students. I focus on building confidence, improving understanding, and helping students develop effective study and exam techniques.
Students can expect a positive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel more confident in their abilities.

I am a highly experienced Afrikaans teacher with a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve excellent results. My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and tailored to each learner’s individual needs and learning style. I believe that every student can succeed with one-on-one attention.
I offer lessons for:
• IEB students from Grade 5 to Matric
• IGCSE and AS Level students
• Students needing support with language, literature, comprehension, oral preparation, language, writing, and exam preparation
My methodology focuses on creating a strong foundation while also improving confidence and exam technique. I use clear explanations, practical examples, past papers, and targeted exercises to help students understand difficult concepts and improve steadily.
I am proficient in both Afrikaans and English, which allows me to explain concepts clearly and assist bilingual learners effectively.
