About Audrey

Hello! My name is Audrey, and I’ve been playing the cello for over 5 years. I am an active member of my school orchestra as well as the Gilbert Town Fiddlers, the only group in the country that learns entirely by ear—without sheet music. I also enjoy writing my own music, which helps me bring creativity and flexibility into my teaching. I have experience working with children as a babysitter and have taught friends on cello and even other instruments. Because of this, I know how to make lessons both encouraging and engaging. You can feel confident knowing that I am patient, reliable, and dedicated to helping beginners succeed. My approach is simple: I first learn where each student is in their musical journey, then create a personalized plan that might include bowing, plucking, scales, or shifting. What makes me unique is not only my background with GTF, but also my ability to connect with students as a younger teacher who understands how they learn best.

About the lesson

When you start lessons with me, I’ll first get to know where you are in your cello journey—whether you’ve never touched one before or already know a little. From there, I’ll create a lesson plan just for you. This might include learning how to hold and use the bow (arco), plucking (pizzicato), scales, shifting, or other techniques step by step.

What sets me apart is my experience as a member of the Gilbert Town Fiddlers, the only group in the country that learns entirely by ear, and my age—I’m younger, so I can connect with students more easily and make learning feel fun and relatable.
