About Willow
With 6 years of teaching experience, I help piano students explore the expressive depth of jazz. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology (Piano History), which provides a strong academic foundation in piano traditions and jazz development. My teaching emphasizes improvisation, comping, and harmonic understanding.
Students learn how to interpret complex chord structures and develop musical ideas spontaneously. Lessons include jazz theory, ear training, transcription, and rhythm training. These elements build both creativity and technical control. Each lesson encourages curiosity and musical exploration.
I have worked with students from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, as well as Professional and Expert jazz musicians. Lessons are tailored to individual musical goals. The aim is confident improvisation and expressive performance. Begin your journey into spontaneous jazz expression.

My piano teaching style combines creativity with strong musical foundations. Students learn essential skills such as chords, scales, rhythm patterns, and expressive playing. These basics help them understand how music works. From there, I introduce songwriting for piano so learners can create their own pieces.
Students practice composing melodies and supporting them with meaningful harmonies. I also guide them in building musical intros, themes, and memorable endings. Lessons encourage creativity while helping students organize their ideas clearly. This makes composing more natural and enjoyable.
For learners who enjoy personal expression through music, I provide a calm and encouraging learning environment. I also support those interested in exploring complex harmonies and improvisational ideas inspired by jazz piano. Each lesson strengthens creativity and musical confidence. Students learn to transform simple ideas into full compositions. With dedication and practice, they begin shaping their own musical identity.
