About Somi
I am a passionate guitar tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages including school, college, and professional learners. I aim to make learning guitar simple, fun, and effective. I believe every student has a unique learning style, so I personalise lessons to match their goals and pace.
My teaching focuses on technique, music theory, improvisation, and creative expression, and students can explore classical, acoustic, electric, or contemporary guitar. I have taught over 200 students, many of whom have performed in concerts, competitions, and recitals, while others have built a rewarding hobby from music.
My lessons combine structured exercises, interactive teaching, and practical examples to make learning engaging and productive. I also teach sight-reading, rhythm, and music composition to help students become confident and well-rounded musicians.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and motivating, ensuring students make steady progress. Learning guitar with me is a journey of skill, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.

My teaching methodology for Guitar focuses on clarity, consistency, and student growth. I use communication, accountability, and integrity to create a supportive learning environment. I explain each concept in a simple and structured way so students can understand and apply it easily.
I encourage open communication in my classes. Students can ask questions freely, and I always make sure they feel comfortable. I also adjust my teaching approach based on their learning level and goals.
I focus on accountability by giving regular practice tasks and helping students stay consistent. I monitor their progress and give detailed feedback to guide improvement.
Integrity is a key part of my teaching. I provide honest feedback and motivate students positively. I also include lessons on rhythm, scales, and song playing to help students develop complete Guitar skills.
