About Matilda
Hello everyone! I am an international minded tutor whose cosmopolitan childhood and strong academic foundation can help every student achieve their goals. Having alternated living from Stockholm, Sweden and Minnesota, USA, and Sydney, Australia, I have encountered numerous international curricula and teaching methodologies which I can bring to the table. I graduated from the globally recognised International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme with a total 42 out of 45 points. Tutoring and academia have been apart of my professional background for the past decade. I have babysat children aged ten and above, during which I incorporated educational activities and home-work help for elementary English and Maths.
Furthermore, I have formally worked in three elementary schools in Sweden as a recreational pedagogue, after-school tutor, and a substitute teacher. In these positions, I conducted both one-on-one, small group, and large group lessons to achieve learning goals in according to the Swedish curriculum LGR11. This experience gave me critical foundations to assess student's understanding and learning through guided activities and assignments, as well as the ability to adjust lesson planning to adapt to student's specific learning needs.

My teaching method is structured depending on the student's individual needs. A warm up activity of some sort will provide me with a better gauge on the student's academic level and areas of development. From there, the student can voice what they feel is most necessary to work on. I will supplement with relevant activities, worksheets, or assignments to help progress learning.
Most importantly, my lessons are open for mutual feedback - I value every student's input and their reflections on not only how their learning progressed, but also what they need from me to become a better learner.
