Super Tutor

Sharna is one of our best English tutors. High-quality profile, qualifications verified, organised and responsive to lesson requests, and appreciated by their students.

About Sharna

I am an experienced English tutor with a First Class Joint Honours degree in English Language and English Literature. I take a gentle and understanding approach to tutor clients in areas ranging from KS3, GCSE and A level. My approach is tailored to each student, taking into consideration their interests, strengths and weaknesses in order to boost confidence in uncertain areas. I ensure that students understand their studied texts well, and feel confident in translating that knowledge into well-read, insightful and high-scoring essays.

About the lesson

In our first lesson, I will take the time to get to know the student and begin to understand the best methods of study for them specifically. Throughout our sessions, I will: Break down school-studied material to enhance understanding ahead of exams / Encourage critical thinking and insightful engagement with texts / Work together to improve GCSE essay writing / Provide engaging and focused lessons tailored to specific needs / Provide an empathetic and understanding approach to tutoring

Perfect! From my free trial session with Sharna, she has already helped me identify some areas I had been struggling with in English literature , and she made sure to be engaging about the subject. She explained the concepts clearly to me, and asked me relevant questions and gave me practical tips I could use right away, I already feel more confident about Macbeth after the one session, and I’m excited to keep learning with her support.

Sharna is an excellent teacher with her amazing understanding of English language and helped convey important information and key points across to an amateur in the subjects of Old Germanic literature and language like myself. She gave me a completely new outlook on my work and helped me find renewed interest in it as well , and I really appreciated her patience and support through it all
