About Samantha
I am 26 years old in my third year of teaching. I started with 6th grade and moved up to high school. I have truly found my groove with the many different strategies I have to get students to truly understand and excel in English concepts, literature skills, and writing skills. I may be a younger teacher, but my passion for the subject shines through.
I have prided myself on finding many ways to relate English content to students’ own lives to help them better understand the content. My master's did quite a bit with finding different ways to explain literature in writing. I took a class in my master's that was specific to teaching literature. My final project was an extensive lesson plan, and I got a 100% on my first draft.
I pride myself on being able to help students understand concepts that they may have thought out of their reach. I was able to get a class of 6th grade students moved up an average of two grade levels in both their literature analysis skills and their writing skills with the district-wide testing.

I am a younger teacher who learned in my master's many different ways to interpret and analyze literature. I have found many different ways of explaining literature in a way that children in grades 6-12 can understand it. I taught 6th grade before I taught high school, so I am experienced with different ages.
I am also a very good writer who focused heavily on writing in my master's, so essay writing comes easily. I have had much success in advancing my students’ writing skills with the many different ways I have learned to teach writing of many kinds.
I am very personable and with my younger age, I am able to easily relate literature and writing skills to what students know to better help them understand what they are reading and/or how to write about it.
My main goal is to help students to advance, or just maintain, their English skills over the summer and get them ready for the next school year.
