About Nina
Hello, my name is Nina 34 years old and from the Netherlands.
In September 2022, I completed my studies to become an English teacher. Currently, I am traveling around the globe to learn from other cultures that can inspire me as a person and provide insights into education and life.
If I were to describe myself, I would say I am spontaneous, eager to learn, patient, and open-minded. I would love to work and live abroad. As a language enthusiast, I truly believe that learning English opens doors to endless possibilities, allowing us to connect with people from all corners of the globe.
I have 1 year of teaching experience. During my final academic year, I worked as an English teacher at the same high school where I completed my internship. My students' age group consisted of students between 11 and 16 years old in secondary education. Additionally, throughout my journey in South East Asia, I have volunteered at multiple high schools in Indonesia.

The educational system in the Netherlands emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving skills. The methodology I used to create my lessons was focused on student-centered learning. I encouraged them to take responsibility for their own learning, set goals, and engage in self-reflection. I acted more as a coach to provide guidance and feedback.
Regarding teaching English as a foreign language, I find it important to focus on meaningful interaction, authentic language use, and real-life communication situations. Students are encouraged to engage in speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities that promote active language use.
