About Bevin
I have over a decade of experience supporting students with their writing projects. I've worked with high school students on writing assignments and college application essays, taught writing courses at the University of Iowa, University of Houston, and USC, provided guidance on Fulbright essays, and supported graduate students with residency applications. Writing can be intimidating, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. Whatever your project or assignment, I'm here to help you achieve your writing goals!

My process-based approach to teaching is designed to honor each individual's writing goals and specific assignment specifications.
A typical session will begin by exploring/analyzing the writing prompt you are working with (if there is one). Next, I will guide you through brainstorming activities to jumpstart the writing process. We will then use what you have generated in the brainstorming phase to create a working draft of the assignment/project. Once we have a working draft, we will continue to develop, revise, and refine the writing until you feel confident and proud of the piece (all while keeping any assignment parameters/requirements in mind). Whatever the context or project, my priority is to center each student's specific needs and writing goals.
