About Finlay
I am currently a student at the University of Exeter with a deep passion for reading, studying literature, and creative writing. My lessons will combine my enthusiasm for the subject with a fun, engaging, collaborative lesson style of practice and reviewing writing.
After graduating from university this summer I hope to become an English teacher, and would like to gain experience by tutoring part-time around my studies. I discovered my passion for teaching after spending the summer teaching English in a school in South America during my year abroad.

Through one-on-one lessons, students will receive aid and further practice for English GCSE and A-Level courses. Lessons are intended for students of GCSE/A-Level age but can also be taken by people (re-)taking these qualifications later in life.
Lesson methods can involve completing practice exam questions, studying of exam approaches, collaborative reading and analysis of core texts, and review of feedback depending on student's wishes combined with the tutor's own planning. Content can include studying of novels, prose, poetry, plays, and non-fiction texts from the ancient classics through to modern literature. Methods of creative writing can also be practised.
Lessons can last an hour to 90-minutes depending on student's availability.
