About Nick

Originally from the North East of England, I travelled to the South West for my degree in English and Drama at the University of Bristol. I then went on to train as an actor at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

After moving to London to pursue my acting dreams, I found that I missed using the more academic side of my brain. I discovered that tutoring and working out how to make things 'click' for my students gave me the same sense of fulfilment that I found in performing. I love helping people build confidence in their abilities and seeing that moment when a challenging concept suddenly makes sense.

My background in both academia and drama means that I bring creativity, patience and strong communication skills to my teaching. I understand that everyone learns differently, and I enjoy finding approaches that suit each individual student, helping them to develop not only their knowledge but also their confidence and enjoyment of the subject.

Hello there,

Thanks for taking a look.

I have been a tutor for over 15 years. Along the way, I have learnt a lot about the role and how significant it can be. For some students, I am a mentor for their whole educational experience whilst others see me as a specialist in one area.

Alongside tutoring, I am a professional actor (hence the posey photo!) and have recently worked at the National Theatre and onscreen. Acting has deepened my ability to connect with others on a personal level, fostering empathy and understanding - qualities that I bring directly into my tutoring. I believe this helps me create a supportive, engaging, and personalised learning experience for every student.

I specialise in tutoring English Language & Literature, Drama, Maths, 11+ Common Entrance exams. Beyond traditional subjects, I also work as a Communications Coach, where I've helped over a hundred clients improve their Public Speaking, Interview Techniques, and Accent Clarity.
