I met Gaius at a GIS workshop he was running about changes to some new software packages. He was really helpful and ran through the software at a comfortable and accessible pace for my previous experience. He is understanding and very patient when it comes to teaching new users. During my placement year in a GIS company I was given Gaius as my graduate buddy. He was extremely helpful in showing me how the company was run and the standards that we were going to be held to.

From the very basics of data management, database management and starting a GIS project he supported me in my learning all the way through to final products, map creating and data analysis. It really allowed me to progress over the course of my placement and secure a position at a GIS based role in my home country.
