About Annecy
Hi, my name's Annecy! I'm an English and Russian Studies student. I chose both subjects because of my love of books, reading, and writing; I started taking Russian because I love Anna Karenina and wanted to read its original Russian version. I really enjoy helping people learn to engage with English language and literature the way I've learned to over the course of my education. I think it's one of the best experiences a person can have.

Close reading to build arguments that can be supported with textual evidence is an important analytical skill. I believe the best way to learn English is through active engagement with the text–the structure, themes, characters, etc. I teach middle school to college level close reading and essay writing, with an emphasis on forming your own opinions on the reading into concise arguments, and selecting key moments in the text to support your claims.
