About Val
I am a Philosophy masters student at Oxford working on ancient philosophy and literature. I also have a degree in Philosophy with English Literature, and I'm a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language. I am particularly interested in American poetry, Shakespeare, and comparative literature (comparing texts with other art forms and texts of other languages). I have been teaching the English language for 5 years, and I have been tutoring A Level English literature and philosophy for 3 and a half years.

My teaching method is based around the curriculum and understanding the exam. I aim to break down the analysis of texts in a logical, step by step way, that will equip students to approach any text by themselves and with confidence. I teach this by example; during my lessons we are always working with the texts themselves.
