About Annelise
I'm a Mining engineering student at Wits University. I have been a primary school tutor for 2 years now, tutoring maths and English. I am very passionate when it comes to the way I deliver my lessons because I've learnt to master the concentration span of a learner, they're body language when they do or do not understand a concept. I believe a friendly but disciplined environment is the best for learning and I always make sure I deliver on that. I also believe that it is better to teach one concept for long until learners fully understand rather than being happy that you're finishing the course content when nobody understands. All learners are different and so is their grasping and understanding methods, hence I've learnt to master different ways of explaining one concept. I am a confident and a very principled tutor who always puts her learners first in giving out the best possible lessons to them.

When teaching I prefer an engagement between me and my students because then I'm able to see if they're understanding or following the concept. I always start with the basics of the concept nomatter how many times we've done it because a perfect base leads to greater understanding. With each and every explanation i make, I always relate it to something my students know it have seen because it's easier to remember what you can relate to. I prefer giving my students examples to try after each explanation rather than pilling up a lot of content and giving them examples at the end because this may be confusing and it may be hard for them to remember which part it is.
