About Akshita

Dance has always been a source of peace for my soul—a form of therapy that transcends the physical and connects deeply with the emotional and spiritual. With over 15 years of experience in Kathak and a Visharad degree, I am an Engineer and MBA who blends discipline, creativity, and passion in everything I do.

I believe that dance is a powerful tool for healing and self-expression, but I understand that many people miss out on its benefits due to time constraints or a lack of access. My mission is to bring the joy and therapeutic essence of dance to those who seek it, making it a part of their lives in a way that is enriching and convenient.

Sharing my knowledge not only helps my students but also nourishes my own soul, as I witness the transformative power of this beautiful art form. Together, we can create a space where dance becomes a source of joy, confidence, and well-being.

About the lesson

Teaching Techniques and Methods
I combine traditional and modern teaching methods to create an engaging learning experience. Using my expertise in Kathak and knowledge of rhythm, movement, and storytelling, I focus on technique, grace, and expression.

Usual Structure of a Class

Warm-up (10-15 minutes): Gentle stretches and basic movements to prepare the body. (Optional)
Technique Practice (20 minutes): Focus on foundational steps, footwork, hand movements, and spins.
Choreography/Performance Preparation (20-25 minutes): Learning and practicing a piece or storytelling through abhinaya (expressive gestures).
Cool Down and Feedback (10 minutes): Relaxation exercises followed by feedback and Q&A.
Special Features as a Teacher
Personalization: Tailor lessons based on the student’s skill level and goals.
Innovative Techniques: Blend storytelling with rhythm to make lessons engaging.
Encouragement: Foster confidence and discipline in my students, enabling them to perform gracefully.
Holistic Focus: Emphasize posture, rhythm, and emotional connection, helping students understand the art’s cultural and historical context.

Students are encouraged to wear outfits suited to dance form, Dressing according to the dance form helps students feel good, enjoy the process, and build confidence.
