About Elena

Hi, I’m Dr. Elena! As a passionate educator and lifetime learner, I’m committed to both personal growth and helping others achieve their potential. I hold more degrees than a thermometer including a PhD in Engineering and Computing Education. I have taught in a variety of settings, including China, where I gained valuable experience working with diverse students. My global teaching experience has deepened my understanding of different learning styles, allowing me to tailor lessons to the individual needs of each student. Outside of teaching, I’m a mom to four dogs and four bunnies, and I’m a big animal lover. I understand the importance of patience and care, which I bring into both my teaching and my personal life. In my spare time, you’ll find me indulging in my hobbies—adult coloring, which helps me relax and stay creative, and computer programming, which allows me to explore my technical side. Whether I’m coding or coloring, I believe in balancing both creativity and logic, just like I do in my teaching. I’m here to support my students with the same dedication I give to my hobbies and personal interests—by providing a structured yet creative learning experience that is as engaging as it is effective. About the lesson

Welcome to a place where learning is fun, engaging, and personalized to "your" child’s unique needs! I'm Dr. Elena, a PhD professor with years of experience teaching students with autism and learning disabilities. I've been approved for the STEP UP Scholarship, which means my lessons are recognized for their quality and commitment to helping students thrive!

My Teaching Methods and Techniques
Teaching isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience, and that’s why I tailor every lesson to fit the strengths and challenges of each student. I use a blend of visual aids, hands-on activities, and plenty of humor to ensure your child stays engaged and enjoys learning. Whether we're practicing social skills through role-playing or tackling math problems with relatable examples, I make sure every lesson is as unique as the student I’m teaching.

I also incorporate a variety of strategies to improve focus and memory, like breaking tasks into smaller steps and using positive reinforcement. And, yes, there will probably be some silly songs along the way. (It's science—music helps with learning!)

A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a quick check-in to see how your child is feeling, what they’re interested in, and if there’s anything they want to focus on that day. We’ll go over the main topic, using interactive materials (think games, videos, and even a few fun challenges), and then spend time reinforcing the lesson with practice. At the end, I’ll recap what we’ve learned and leave them with a fun activity or “homework” (yes, homework can be fun, I promise!) to continue the learning until our next session.
