About James

I am a passionate saxophone tutor with 12 years of experience teaching college students. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in both technique and music theory, while keeping lessons fun and interactive.

I believe that every student has a unique style, and I customize my lessons to suit individual learning preferences. I use a mix of classical exercises, modern jazz techniques, and real-life music examples to make learning practical and exciting.

I encourage students to explore improvisation, understand musical expressions, and develop confidence in performing. My lessons are designed to improve not only technical skills but also creativity and musicality. I regularly introduce innovative methods, such as play-along sessions, recording practice, and using digital tools to track progress.

Apart from saxophone, I also guide students in understanding music theory, ear training, and composition basics. I take pride in creating a supportive and motivating environment where students feel confident to experiment, make mistakes, and grow as musicians.

About the lesson

My saxophone teaching methodology focuses on adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I design lessons to match each student’s learning style, pace, and goals—through listening exercises, demonstration, and hands-on practice.
