About Marcus
My learner outcomes speak for themselves. I bring my authentic self to my teaching, connecting with pupils through my attention to their needs and to them as a person first, then as a learner. I am good-humoured, and bring content to life through concrete examples and stories. I work in professional football as a performance coach, and with Olympic coaches as a coach developer, so can build knowledge around contemporary approaches to the sport sciences which I observe on a weekly basis.

Lessons are tailored around the needs of the learner but will traditionally work from 30-60 minutes, utilising the maximal impact of sustained attention. I have 12 years' teaching experience and have spearheaded the rise of academic sport sciences in my school to one of the largest GCSE option subjects and from numbers under 10 pupils to 30+ pupils at A Level. Results never below a year group average of 7 grade at GCSE with statistically significant value-added at 0.41 and 3-year average of 30% A*-A grades with +0.39 value-added (pupils on average achieve 40% higher grade than projected through my teaching). Lessons aimed at any GCSE or A Level physical education course.
