About Raphael
Hey there! I'm Raphael, a truly Parisian transplant now living in New York.
I firmly believe that the perceived difficulty in learning French often comes from outdated teaching methods.
My mission is to make French accessible, enjoyable, and yes, easy.
In my view, the key lies in fostering an environment of openness, where making mistakes is part of the learning process and judgment is left at the door.
It's not just about conjugating verbs or memorizing vocabulary; it's about immersing oneself in the rich tapestry of French culture, and mindset.
Language and culture are intertwined, and by embracing both, you can truly unlock your French-speaking potential. So, whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I'm here to guide you with patience and enthusiasm.
Let's embark on this journey together!

In my tutoring approach, I focus on your goals and interests from the get-go.
We'll kick off our first 15 minutes by getting to know each other and discussing what you want to achieve. Then, we dive into boosting your vocabulary because, let's face it, having the right words is key to expressing yourself—even if the grammar isn't perfect.
I'll teach you the classic, proper way while also sprinkling in real-life French nuances.
Each lesson is a fun mix of structured learning and interactive activities. We start with expanding your vocabulary and then practice through engaging conversations and activities. I'll also introduce you to cool resources like podcasts and articles to keep things interesting and help you understand different contexts.
What makes me stand out as a tutor is my focus on creating a supportive and judgment-free environment. I'm here to cheer you on and provide helpful feedback to boost your confidence. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, my lessons cater to your unique style and goals.
So, if you're looking to up your French game, whether it's for school, work, or just because you love the language, let's team up and make it happen!
