About Jakob

I am a qualified composer, trained pianist and drummer and have been producing for over 10 years under the pseudonym "Ioka" in various electronic genres. My music was featured in many compilations and is released by the label CongaRecords. As a music score composer, I wrote the music for various documentaries and set several educational films to music. In addition, my work as a sound designer was in demand in several product videos.

About the lesson

Everybody knows the countless Youtube videos and workshops, which mainly deal with the technology and software for producing music. However, you get hardly any help to finish the 100th started track. Therefore I try to put special emphasis on musical approaches in my lessons. How do I start, how do I make a whole track out of my first idea and how do I deal with form, harmony, melody and, of course, rhythm? are all questions that are dealt with in my lessons. By doing one-to-one lessons, I can, in contrast to workshops, respond very closely to individual needs and interests. I love listening, analyzing and communicating with friends. That's why, after studying composition 4 years ago, I decided to pass on my knowledge and specialize in electronic music.

Perfect! Jakob is a great mentor who flexibly adapts to each student's style and learning needs. He is equally knowledgeable about the technical aspects of how to operate the DAW and other software components, as well as how to approach composition and arranging. While Jakob's "home" is in electronic music, he is versatile and flexible when it comes to working with musicians from different styles, with both traditional and electronic instruments.
