About Torfinn

I am a 27 year old musician with a performing master's degree and practical pedagogical education from the Norwegian Academy of Music. My performing background consists largely of playing, writing and producing music in bands with aesthetics from metal, rock and punk. In addition to my work as a musician and guitar teacher, I run my own summer course for young people who want to play in bands in Asker: "Asker Band-camp". I have also produced a number of releases for both my own and other people's bands in programs such as Logic Pro X and Pro Tools, and am happy to include this in my teaching if desired.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on one-to-one teaching, either physically or digitally according to the student's wishes. I choose to base my teaching on the student's musical interests. Whether the student wants to work with a specific genre, songwriting, interplay, or technical exercises on the instrument, I will contribute all my professional expertise to help the student reach their own goals. When a new student comes to me, we always first have a little chat about short-term goals, long-term goals, and the motivation to play. While I have lessons with the students on a regular basis (how often is agreed upon according to the student's wishes), I create a digital folder for each individual student where they can click in and find videos of exercises, the repertoire we are working with, notes from the lessons, etc. The lessons take place at my office in Kongens Gate 16 (Oslo), or digitally according to the student's wishes. I teach students of all ages, ambitions, and levels!
