About Agnese

My name is Agnes. I am a native Russian/Latvian speaker and have been living in London for 9 years. I have had private one-to-one teaching experience in various subjects such as languages, Maths and Science for different age groups of children. I have also gained work experience in translating academic and professional documents for private clients from Russian to Latvian and English. In London, I have gained a BA(Hons) degree in Business and CHE in Management. I have taught various subjects in English for children (age 5 to 15) in a private language school in Riga, Latvia, as well as organising group lessons for learning Latvian for Russian speakers every week. I am offering Latvian language teaching for students of different levels (Beginner to Advanced), in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere online. My availability is on weekday evenings. Latvian language lessons consist of: - One-to-one tuition in speaking, listening, writing and reading - Understanding and improving conversational skills, pronunciation and grammar - Learning about Latvian culture and traditions I provide my students with all the necessary materials for learning the language, however, you can also use your own textbooks too.

About the lesson

I use a mixed method approach with an individual focus, identifying students' learning needs and future learning goals combined with the students' preferred method of learning. My teaching methodology is a task-based approach with emphasis on communication, practical use of language, pronunciation and listening. Although I think that a strong grammatical foundation is very important in learning any language, immediate practice has to be applied in practice and in real-life situations.

Perfect! I am really impressed with Agnese’s patience and persistence with my two children (7 and 5 years old). She uses a great combination of songs, cartoons, books and verbal discussions. I can really see the progress and their confidence growing. Thank you!

Perfect! Agnese has a great enthusiasm for the Latvian language and has well established methods and materials to help navigate key vocab, verbs, conjugation, culture and more. I'm enjoying my lessons with her and think she's got a nice communication style. Would certainly recommend.

Natalie has a very clear goal and is very motivated to learn new vocabulary, grammar rules and practice speaking as much as possible. She spends a lot of time after classes reading books in Latvian and completing exercises. I can not to imagine to have a better student than Natalie, I would highly recommend her.
