About Kira
I am a second year law student at the University of Edinburgh and, prior to my acceptance, worked as a private tutor for primary and secondary school students as well as a Writing Coach for university students across all disciplines for around two years. As a student myself, I am able to more closely connect and relate to students and understand the stress they might be under while fostering their academic independence and confidence. As well as being a writing coach, I am also proficient in French and have worked with several students on developing general academic success skills including time management, study regimes, and reading comprehension.

My lessons are led in collaboration with the needs of my students and focus on developing strong writing, reading, and associated critical thinking skills. Working with me is great for students who feel left behind in traditional educational settings because I provide support in a relaxed environment which allows them to ask questions and explore their skills in a way that might otherwise be difficult in regular classrooms. Learning plans can be fully customized to meet the needs of my clients. I am also easy to get in contact with to answer questions in between sessions so students are not left “stuck” at any time during our work together. Regardless of the preparation level of the student, I will meet them where they are and help them grow as a student so they can more readily accomplish their academic goals.
