About Siena
I am an Economics tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching school students, college learners, and working professionals. I believe Economics is not just about graphs and numbers—it's about understanding how people, businesses, and governments make decisions. My teaching philosophy is centred around making complex ideas simple and meaningful by connecting them to real-life situations. Over the years, I have helped students from different backgrounds improve their academic performance, prepare for exams, and build a strong foundation in both microeconomics and macroeconomics. I focus on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills so that students can apply economic concepts with confidence. Whether you're struggling with supply and demand, GDP, or market structures, I explain each topic in a clear and step-by-step way. One of my proudest achievements is helping several working professionals prepare for economics-based entrance exams and job interviews. Many of them not only passed but gained a deeper appreciation for the subject. I’ve also supported high school and college students in completing research projects and presentations, guiding them through data analysis and economic writing. My teaching methodology is centred around building strong critical thinking skills while fostering a supportive and adaptable learning environment. I believe that learning Economics should be more than memorising theories—it should help students understand how the world works. That’s why I focus on real-life applications of economic concepts, using practical examples from business, policy, and everyday decision-making to make the subject relatable and engaging. Flexibility is key to my approach. I adjust my lessons based on each student's pace, learning style, and academic goals. Whether it’s breaking down a complex macroeconomic model or revisiting the basics of supply and demand, I make sure the lessons match the student’s level and needs. Problem-solving is at the heart of how I teach. I encourage students to ask questions, explore different angles, and work through economic problems step by step. I guide them through structured thinking processes so they can analyse situations logically and independently. Integrity is also important in my teaching. I create a respectful and honest space where students feel safe to share doubts and grow without fear of judgement. I aim to build trust and confidence by giving consistent feedback and celebrating progress. Alongside Economics, I also teach related subjects like Business Studies and Finance, always with the goal of helping students become better thinkers and more informed individuals. My mission is to make Economics clear, useful, and even enjoyable.
