About Delal
I am an experienced Economics and Business Studies specialist with over five years’ experience teaching and leading these subjects at secondary level. As a former Head of Department and an examiner for leading UK exam boards, I bring a deep understanding of both subject content and the assessment process, ensuring students are fully prepared for the demands of their exams. I have worked extensively with students aged 14–18 across GCSE and A-Level, supporting learners of all abilities. Whether a student needs help building confidence and foundational knowledge, or is aiming for the highest grades, my approach is always tailored, structured, and supportive. My examiner experience allows me to give clear, practical guidance on how marks are awarded and how students can maximise their performance under exam conditions. I pride myself on being professional, reliable, and approachable. Lessons are well planned, focused, and adapted to individual needs, with clear explanations and measurable progress. My aim is not only to improve grades, but to help students develop confidence, strong exam technique, and a genuine understanding of Economics and Business Studies.

My teaching style is grounded in Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction, focusing on clarity, structure, and high-impact practice. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and begin with short retrieval tasks to check prior knowledge, followed by small, clearly explained steps using modelling and worked examples. I guide students through questioning and scaffolded practice before gradually releasing responsibility, ensuring understanding is secure before moving on. Regular checks for understanding, targeted feedback, and exam-style practice are built into every session. Lessons are designed for high-impact and cognitive development of retrieving and utilising information for all ages between 14 - 18. As a past Economics Graduate and Financial adviser, I am equipped with building students overall understanding of concepts through latest changes in society and Business.
