My Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I use the DISTAR (Direct Instruction System for Teaching and Remediation) reading method, which is a structured, step-by-step approach proven to help young children develop strong early reading skills. My lessons focus on phonics, letter recognition, sound blending, vocabulary building, and reading confidence. I use engaging activities, repetition, positive reinforcement, and age-appropriate materials to keep children motivated and comfortable while learning. Lessons are interactive, fun, and adapted to each child’s pace and learning style.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
A typical lesson lasts 30 to 45 minutes, which is ideal for maintaining focus and attention for 4–5 year old children. Lesson length can be adjusted based on the child’s needs, attention span, and learning progress.
My Qualifications and Experience:
I have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a nursery in the UAE, where I supported young children in their early learning and development. This role helped me gain hands-on experience with early years education, classroom management, and child-centered teaching approaches. I am patient, caring, and experienced in working with beginner-level learners in a nurturing environment.
