About Melissa
Hello, My name is Melissa and I live in the south West. I am in my final year of Primary Teacher Training specialising in Early years. I am also a Teaching assistant in a reception class.
I am passionate about securing best outcomes for children. I treat each child as an individual, working from their interests. I continuously assess their progress and plan appropriate next steps. I am familiar with intervention schemes to help students catch up.
I enjoy my job and take pride in delivering fun play-based lessons. I am patient, caring and have excellent time keeping skills and always willing to go the extra mile for children`s learning and development.
I am looking to tutor children who may need extra help with their phonics, reading, maths or any primary foundation subjects support including Science. I can also support EAL children learn English and progress in other subjects they may struggle with.
I can offer:

- Clear and simple explanations.
- Fun play base approach to learning.
- Additional activities for you to work on at home
I am happy to support and tutor children in Early Years, KS1. I am willing to do short term or one off bookings while schools may be closed in your tier or your child is isolating.

My teaching method is planning rich engaging projects for children to work on. By planning around the children's interest it allows children to engage with the topic. An example is where a child enjoyed busses so we created a project based around counting passengers on and off the bus to encourage counting.
