About Haley

Meet Haley – Passionate Dance Educator & Performer Hi, I’m Haley, a dedicated and enthusiastic dance instructor with over a decade of experience in both training and teaching. I am currently a BFA student at CalArts pursuing a Dance degree. Dance has been a part of my life for 14 years, and I’ve spent years studying multiple styles including hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, acro, and improv. I’ve trained under renowned choreographers, performed on professional stages, and choreographed award-winning routines, but what I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve had helping dancers believe in themselves. I understand what it takes to grow not only as a dancer, but as a confident, expressive individual. My goal is to make every student feel seen, supported, and excited to learn. Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for your next big audition, I will meet you where you are and help you push past limits you didn’t think you could. I bring both professionalism and heart to every lesson. With strong attention to technique, a passion for performance, and a deep respect for each student’s unique journey, I create a safe and motivating environment where dancers can thrive. About the lesson

My Approach as a Dance Instructor:
As a dance teacher with over eight years of experience, I believe in creating a space where dancers feel seen, supported, and challenged. My teaching method blends structure with creativity. I use clear technique foundations while encouraging individuality, exploration, and expression. Whether it's a hip hop combo, an improv prompt, or refining a competitive solo, my focus is on building both skill and confidence.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
My lessons are grounded in proper technique, musicality, and storytelling. I tailor each session to the dancer’s age and level, using a mix of across-the-floor progressions, center combinations, creative exercises, and freestyle moments to keep learning engaging. I also emphasize mindset, teaching dancers how to take corrections, celebrate growth, and stay motivated through challenges.

A Typical Lesson Plan Might Include:

5–10 minutes of warm-up and conditioning

Across-the-floor technique or drills

Center combo focusing on style and musicality

Optional freestyle or improv section

Cool down and reflection/check-in

Each class is adapted to meet the dancer’s goals, whether they’re training for an audition, preparing a competition piece, or just wanting to improve their freestyle.

What Sets Me Apart:
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students on both a personal and professional level. I’ve worked with dancers as young as three and as advanced as pre-professional teens, always finding ways to motivate, guide, and inspire. Having choreographed award-winning routines and trained under top professionals like Tessandra Chavez, Shannon Mather, and Jordan Kaya, I bring a wealth of experience from both stage and studio. I also understand the emotional side of dance, from body image to performance anxiety, and aim to create a judgment-free zone where dancers feel safe to be themselves.
