About Ariane
I'm an experienced vocal instructor, with 5 years' experience teaching in different music schools. I studied vocal jazz performance at Berklee College of Music, and Musicology at The University of Edinburgh. I'm absolutely passionate about singing and understanding and sharing how the voice works. And I believe everyone can learn how to sing with the right kind of support. I'm fun, patient, and very structured in my approach. I work closely with each student to make them feel safe and comfortable. And I break down challenging aspects of vocal technique in a very accessible way. Students have the space to explore and experiment with their voices and to familiarise themselves with their knowledge and grasp of their singing body. Overall, I make sure students are excited about the songs they're learning and feel safe exploring their voices and grow into more confident singers.

My approach to singing is body-centred. I give my students concrete tools to understand the mechanics of the singing voice. Lessons are 1 hour long and I divide them in 3 parts: - We practise body mechanics, breath support, and tension release - We apply body mechanics in series of exercises, combining vocal technique, ear training, and musicianship. - We focus on a song of the student's choice, applying all aspects of vocal technique explored in the exercises, and delving into song interpretation, phrasing, and improvisation (for jazz students).
