About James
I am a friendly and patient person and I find joy in helping others on their musical journey and develop their skill in music. I started playing guitar at the age of 7 after playing piano in school. I knew at that age that I wanted to dedicate my life to writing, performing and teaching music.

If it's your first time picking up the guitar, I will show you all of the necessary tools you need to get playing fast! From there we will tackle chords, strumming patterns, chord changes and most exciting of all, your first song! Likewise, if you've been playing for a while and want to develop your skill in some more advanced styles or techniques, like funk, rock or jazz, look no further! I'm a friendly and patient tutor and I absolutely love to share my knowledge and ability with others. Lessons will be structured in a way where we will focus on a certain technique, then put it into practice with musical context. For example, if we're focusing on changing from one chord to the next, we'll also learn a song that helps us develop that skill. I'll also set you little challenges in between lessons that will help you improve your ability on a weekly basis. Lessons will also be structured to suit you and your goals and I am sure that I can help you get to the level that you want! Guitar is a hard instrument, but it is not impossible, and I believe that anyone can learn at any age. As your ability on the guitar improves, so will your ear and your overall musicality, bringing out the musician that is inside all of us. Lessons range from 30 - 60 minutes, and if you require a little extra practice guidance in between lessons, I'm just a text away, no extra charge! I have taught guitar for many years to people of all ages and abilities and I hold a BA Honors Degree in Commercial Modern Music.
