About Candice

Hello there!

My name is Candice, and I am passionate about teaching. I am from San Francisco, California, and moved to England to further my educational goals in 2022. I began tutoring when I taught knitting to children in 2008, and I have since expanded my practice to teach all forms of art. I also teach subjects that build foundational knowledge and academic skills. I love working with students to incorporate their personal interests into their work.

My education includes:
-Bachelor's degree, University of Central Florida: interdisciplinary studies (studio art, marketing and advertising, and mass communications)
-Master of Arts degree, San Francisco State University: anthropology on an archaeology track
-Master of Arts, degree, London: cultural studies

Training and certifications include:
-International TEFL Academy: Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification
-CTC Training: Award in Education and Training (in progress)
-Multiple yearly safeguarding trainings, to Level 2 (including autism awareness)
-DBS certified

When I am not tutoring, I work as an archaeologist, make art, and further my postgraduate interests.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

I am patient and encouraging, helping students every step of the way whilst checking their knowledge against the UK curriculum.
