Daire taught me music theory in the past and he is an amazing teacher. He is extremely patient, fits the lessons to his students, highly empathetic, experienced and well trained in both his field and pedagogy. Daire has been teaching my son (11 years old currently) music theory through personal online lessons. Daire is an inspiring teacher. He takes the theory syllabus my son is studying for and weaves in creative composing experiences and listening to different genres of music exercises to bring the theory to life - to help understand how knowledge of music theory is fundamental to performing and composing music. The teaching is immersive, well beyond just rote learning for the exams. He works in collaboration with us to formulate a plan of learning a stage at a time. My son was worried at first, he thought that learning theory would harm the magic of music performance and composing for him, but it has done the opposite. He has told me that within a few weeks, he is listening to music with much more understanding and already has a growing repetoire of knowledge to help him perform and ideas to help him compose. We highly recommend Daire for music theory teaching.

Daire is a fantastic piano teacher. Our daughter took piano lessons with Daire online, she started as a beginner and the progress she made within 9 months exceeded our expectations. Daire is friendly and patient teacher with individual attitude to student. Great communication.

Daire has and continues to work with Athenry Music school, of which I am director since 2014 when he became our youngest faculty member. He has 9 years of experience teaching individuals and ensembles. He is an exceptional musician and tutor who tailors his lessons to the specific needs of each student and/or the group dynamic. He is vey sensitive to the pace and pitch needed to bring the best out of his students. Daire rehearsed and conducted the Athenry Camerata in the Irish National Concert Hall 2019 and has tutored on the National Irish chamber music weekend since 2017. He is a resident tutor since 2015 with the award winning OURchestra residential camp. Daire was an integral part of the team of tutors for orchestral tuition online during the pandemic with Athenry Music School for which they won a National Award from the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras 2021.
